Celebrating the Approval of a Family-Based Green Card: A Journey to Legal Permanent Residency from the abyss of possible deportation

At Barrera Legal Group, we are thrilled to share a heartwarming success story that exemplifies the power of love, perseverance, and the American dream. Today, we celebrate the approval of a family-based green card for one of our clients.

This journey began with our client who sought the help of Barrera Legal Group to see if he could apply for a green card even though he had a deportation case that was suspended. When Barrera Legal Group reviewed his case, we recognized that our client was eligible to adjust status to legal permanent resident status based on the fact that the client had a prior I-130 petition filed before April 30, 2001, which allowed for adjustment of status within the United States pursuant to INA section 245i.

However, navigating the complex immigration system can be daunting. That's where Barrera Legal Group stepped in to provide guidance, support, and expertise every step of the way. We worked closely with our client and his USC son to prepare a strong green card application, ensuring that every detail was meticulously addressed to maximize the chances of success.

One pivotal moment in this journey was when Barrera Legal Group was able to convince the government and the immigration judge to reopen the suspended deportation case and then agree to terminate the deportation case, to then allow our client to apply for the green card before USCIS.

Today, we are overjoyed to announce that our client's application for the family-based green card has been approved, marking the beginning of a new chapter in his life as a legal permanent resident of the United States. This success story not only underscores the importance of love and family but also highlights the invaluable role of experienced legal representation in achieving immigration goals.

At Barrera Legal Group, we specialize in a wide range of immigration services, including family-based green card cases, humanitarian relief such as asylum, U-Visas, and VAWA-based relief, as well as defending clients in removal and deportation proceedings.
