The I-485 is the final approval notice in the adjustment of status process that notifies the green card applicant that the green card application has been approved. In removal proceedings, an immigration judge can grant and order the United States Citizenship and Immigration Service to issue a green card from the approval of an application known as Cancellation of Removal.
