We are thrilled to announce the successful approval of an Immigrant Visa for one of our clients through their U.S. Citizen son. This achievement marks the final step in the consular processing journey for a green card, made possible with the approval of the I-601 Provisional Stateside Waiver. This waiver forgives the ten-year bar due to prior unlawful presence, allowing our client to reunite with their family in the United States.
Steps in the Process:
Filing the I-130 Petition: The process began with the U.S. Citizen son filing an I-130 Petition for Alien Relative to establish the family relationship.
Provisional Waiver Application: After the I-130 approval, we filed the I-601A Provisional Unlawful Presence Waiver. This waiver was essential to forgive the ten-year bar due to our client’s previous unlawful presence in the U.S.
Consular Processing: Once the waiver was approved, our client proceeded with consular processing, including an interview at the U.S. Consulate in Ciudad Juarez.
Visa Issuance and Entry: The immigrant visa was issued, and our client entered the U.S. as a lawful permanent resident, evidenced by the temporary I-551 stamp in their passport.
