DACA Renewal Approval: Continued Success at Barrera Legal Group

We are excited to announce that our client has received approval for their DACA renewal, allowing them to continue to stay in the United States with work authorization until August 2026. This is another victory for Attorney John Barrera and the dedicated team at Barrera Legal Group, demonstrating our commitment to helping our clients secure their futures in the U.S.

What is DACA?
DACA, or Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals, is a program that provides temporary protection from deportation and work authorization to eligible undocumented individuals who were brought to the United States as children. DACA recipients are granted a renewable two-year period of deferred action from deportation and are eligible for work permits.

DACA Eligibility Requirements
To qualify for DACA, applicants must meet the following criteria:

Age Requirement: Must have been under 31 as of June 15, 2012.
Arrival in the U.S.: Came to the United States before reaching their 16th birthday.
Continuous Residence: Have lived continuously in the United States since June 15, 2007.
Physical Presence: Were physically present in the United States on June 15, 2012, and at the time of applying for DACA.
Legal Status: Had no lawful status on June 15, 2012.
Education/Military Service: Currently in school, have graduated from high school, obtained a GED, or are an honorably discharged veteran of the U.S. Armed Forces or Coast Guard.
Criminal Record: Have not been convicted of a felony, significant misdemeanor, or three or more other misdemeanors, and do not pose a threat to national security or public safety.
Important Notice: USCIS is Only Processing DACA Renewals
Due to ongoing federal litigation, USCIS is currently only processing DACA renewals and is not accepting new applications. If you are a current DACA recipient, it is vital to renew your status on time to continue receiving these important benefits.

At Barrera Legal Group, we are here to guide you through the DACA renewal process and any other immigration matters you may need assistance with. Our experienced team is dedicated to helping you stay protected and continue contributing to your community.
